River and canal cruising
 |
|
Very
few French counties can pride themselves on being the
meeting point of two majestic, canals. Although quite different in features,
both enjoy fame far beyond Nièvre’s boundaries.
The nonchalant waters of both canals, the ‘Nivernais Canal’ and ‘Canal
Latéral’, meet in Decize via the Loire. Thus, over 110 miles of Nièvre’s
canals are open to lovers of pleasure cruising along quiet waters, under the
spell of striking landscapes where all is magic.
